Book: Lessons for Territorial Well-being
“How are we transforming the territory today? What social and nature relationships do our cities promote today? What type of settlements do we need to respond to the challenges of the present?” p. 97
The Cosmos Foundation presents the book “Lessons Learned for Territorial Well-being,” which shares a decade of experience building bridges between people and their territories. You can find it for sale at buscalibre.cl
This issue is intended for all those who promote nature-based urban planning, conservation through public-private management models, nature education, situated infrastructure, and the benefits of nature, both at the institutional and professional levels, as well as anyone interested in being part of a sustainable and resilient future.
The book is divided into two parts:
Part 1 “Inhabiting”: Seven chapters based on the pillars of our methodology. Each contains a narrative that weaves together experiences, reflections, and lessons learned, inviting the reader to delve deeper into our way of inhabiting the planet, providing tools and perspectives to advance toward a life in harmony with ecosystems.
Part 2 “Project”: A sample of 12 Foundation projects, with plans and technical information that translate our methodology into concrete proposals to reconnect with the environment.
“A horizon in which communities have fair and equitable access to natural resources, with the spaces, resources, and community networks to develop healthy lives. In this ideal, people are able to make free and informed decisions about their territory and their future, understanding that their well-being is intrinsically linked to that of nature” (p. 174).
