Therapeutic Gardens

Kamuna Center: Fundación Cosmos’ First International Project

Together with A.LU.MA-Burundi, an organization dedicated to the rehabilitation of people with drug addiction and mental health challenges, we are designing a new rehabilitation center in Burundi, Africa.

Documentary

“Rooted again: Restoring the Río Maipo Wetland Nature Sanctuary”

Through stunning footage of the Sanctuary’s birdlife, this Fundación Cosmos production tells the story of the community-led restoration of degraded areas of the Río Maipo Wetland.

Urban Wetlands

Parks for the Rocuant–Andalién–Paicaví–Tucapel Bajo Wetland System

Together with the municipalities of Hualpén, Concepción, and Talcahuano, we are working to develop areas of the Chimalfe, Paicaví, and El Moro wetlands as natural parks open to the community, promoting environmental education, social cohesion, and biodiversity conservation.

Wetlands

Open-Air Museum: Explanada de las Aguas de Huentelauquén

With the aim of highlighting the natural and cultural heritage of this ecosystem, we are working with the local community to design infrastructure that can support tourism and education centered around the wetland.

Book

Territorio: Designing landscapes for wellbeing

This book weaves together 10 years of experiences, reflections, and lessons from our work building connections between communities and their territories. It invites readers to reflect more deeply on our way of inhabiting the planet, offering tools and perspectives to move toward a life in harmony with ecosystems.

We create spaces that strenghten our connection with the territories we inhabit, emphasizing nature as a platform for good living.

What we do

We develop nature-based territorial management models through landscape architecture, conservation, and education, in partnership with public and private stakeholders.

What we do

Urban wetlands

We promote the conservation and restoration of urban wetlands, recognizing their vital role in creating healthy environments and resilient communities. Through education, participatory design, and ecological management, we protect biodiversity and foster spaces for learning and recreation. Our goal is to strengthen the connection between people and these ecosystems, encouraging stewardship and long-term well-being.

What we do

Therapeutic Gardens

We leverage the healing and therapeutic power of nature in the design of infrastructure for healthcare centers and nursing homes to promote the well-being of their communities.

What we do

Nature-based planning

We advocate for urban and territorial planning that respects the natural characteristics of each location, emphasizing the importance of water, soil, vegetation, and biodiversity. Our approach integrates ecological, cultural, and social aspects to enhance resilience and well-being, while promoting the regeneration of natural systems and harmonious cities and landscapes.

What we do

Transformative Nature Educational Model

We highlight the transformative power of nature in education by creating learning environments that awaken curiosity, empathy, and a sense of belonging to the living world. Our approach promotes learning in and with nature, fostering new ways of understanding the relationship between people and their environment. Through this model, we aim to strengthen ecological awareness and contribute to a more equitable and connected educational system. We work to:

  • Develop an educational model rooted in direct experience with nature.
  • Train teachers through the Transformative Education with Nature
  • Encourage the formation of ecological citizenship and community stewardship.
  • Reimagine the bond between education and the environment to improve access and quality in learning.
  • Design and implement green areas in educational centers that embody the formative and healing role of nature.

What we do

Alberto Hurtado University

We partner with Universidad Alberto Hurtado (UAH) to enhance its educational mission and strengthen its connection with society by creating spaces that promote learning, foster encounters, and care for the environment.

Together, we work on infrastructure and landscape projects that enhance the university's cultural heritage, enhance campus life, and reflect the Jesuit and humanistic principles of education, which aim to serve the common good.

Our collaboration also focuses on research and innovation, generating studies and data on the link between green infrastructure, social well-being, and ecological sustainability. This work advances knowledge that connects human development with ecosystem health.

Human beings and nature are inseparably connected: we are part of socio-ecosystems.
